I named this newsletter for the things that bring anticipatory smiles to my face:

  • Cooking with vibes, not measurements

  • Whipping up deliciousness with the “food we have at home”

  • Writing in my favorite forms—brand copy, feature stories, tarot-inspired journal entries…

  • Simply indulging—exploring new places, at-home spa days, throwing my flowy clothes on to go and eat my way through a menu (flowy bc extra room!)

Why am I writing this?

Kind of just felt like being myself on the internet. Usually, when I create something, it's as something—a brand, a client, an agency. cooking, writing, indulging is all me.

Life Lately: A once-a-month dispatch of what I cooked, wrote, and indulged in all month—plus recs for anything I fell in love with.

Eat This: Inspiration for your taste buds—foodie interviews, un-recipes, ingredient notes, product features, plus playlists to cook & dine to.

Usually Correct: Named for the way my mom legit described herself to me in 2003, this monthly column is memoir meets (biased) cultural commentary—because the apple didn’t fall far from the opinionated tree.

Indulge Me: From THC-spiked Bloody Marys in Berkeley to Polpettone alla Ligure lessons in northern Italy, these are my most personal picks, unpacked.

About me

I create campaign and editorial content for brands, and write about food, travel, and unbossed women.

In 1995, we never had printer ink because I figured out I really liked writing. The words I’ve click-clacked in the thirty years since have taken me from an editorial intern at DailyCandy Dallas—covering hipster hangouts and local happenings for The Weekend Guide—to crafting editorial and campaign content for brands like GoDaddy, Mailchimp, Daily Harvest, and Vanderbilt University. Along the way, I built Ladypreneur League, a community for millennial businesswomen. These days, I split my time between brand work and navigating midlife with moxie in this newsletter, cooking, writing, indulging.
